You have a right to not be wrongfully detained by a Police Officer. Police must have evidence of a crime to legally detain you, or question you. If you tell a police officer that you are leaving, you are free to leave. If the officer prevents you from leaving, you are being detained. If you are detained, without cause, you likely had your rights to due process violated.
You have a right to film police as they carry out their duty, or as they act extralegally in order to violate your rights. You can do so as long as you do not interfere with the police. The police don't like this... but it is absolutely legal in a public space with officers going about their duty.
We HIGHLY recommended it.
You are a citizen, a taxpayer, and a CUSTOMER considering the city "manages" the utilities. You have a right to complain about poor treatment.
Complain at EVERY opportunity,
We can help!
You have a right to exist... without police harassment. Police aren't engaged and paid to harass citizens.
Police cannot accost you without cause.
You have the right to not be raped by city employees and Ukiah Police Officers.
That is a right.
Yes, it is sad that needs to be discussed, but in Ukiah, unfortunately, it needs to be said.
You have the right to videotape in public. In the public arena with few exceptions like restrooms for example, there is no privacy. Have an issue with bad folks... in the public arena, the camera can be a good friend.
